Nothing beats face-to-face talks
Content is King!Holland’s leading travel website REISHONGER was created over 12 years ago and has developed into one of the prime and principal travel websites on the Dutch market with over 2.5 million visitors each year. The site employes many contributors and one of them – Mirte Voorend – explains the importance of visiting press workshops to get engaging, relevant, memorable, entertaining and inspiring travel content.

‘We cover virtually each and every aspect of holidays and travel, including outdoor, sun and winter sports trips, beach destinations, off the beaten track, family adventures and of course CITY TRIPS, in Europe and long-haul’, says Voorend. So how do we ensure that our name and website stand out from the crowd? The answer is of course CONTENT. Content is King!
Any content we create we do with the consumer in mind. What will inspire them to linger on our website? What will make them consider booking a holiday to your destination? What are their likely priorities? What should we write to answer their questions? And we of course take care of plenty of nice images and video.
No need to tell you that as a blogger I am very keen on receiving news and input for my travel articles. So, in addition to being on many press mailing lists, another excellent platform for us to gather news are of course media events and workshops, like for example the annual City Breaks Press Event organised by PR agency Baltus Communications. Our team are regular visitors to these speed-dating travel media events as it is extremely practical for us: we can meet so many cities in just one afternoon and learn about why Dutch citizens should consider a city break to your city. And also to discuss news items, story ideas, press trips, joint promotions, campaigns, free publicity and more. Nothing beats face-to-face talks.
For us it is a fantastic opportunity to catch up with so many city tourist boards and for you it of course a great opportunity to meet us and many other media, bloggers, and influencers. We will be there on March 30, so I do hope to meet up with you in The Hague.
